Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the United States aside from skin cancer. Dr. Jose Avitia, a medical oncologist with the New Mexico Cancer Center talked about prostate cancer and the technology being used to detect it.
Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing has been a standard tool in detecting prostate cancer for years. It can help us determine if there is something there, however, it doesn’t give the whole story. Dr. Avitia explains that’s why it’s important to then get an MRI to help get more details about your prostate.
New Mexico Cancer Center offers comprehensive approaches to help patients tackle prostate cancer. They create personalized care plans, holistic support services, and convenient locations.
